Mother Of Pearl Butterfly

Dawn Wade

The Mother of Pearl is the common name,  the surface of the wings is greenish white with a violet sheen in the wet-winter seasons and pearly white in the dry-season.

The forewing has a black-tipped, hooked apex. The underside of the wings has a greenish-white base colour.

Fun for children and adults to try and follow as they have a magical way of almost becoming invisible with their surroundings.

Commonly found in the forest areas as well as Raphia Palm Walk.
